Well, our first update! We’ve been kind of putting this site on the back burner for quite some time now and we figured now was as good of a time as any to get back into it!

A few things have changed around the shop to begin with, firstly we had to postpone usage of the CNC and laser machines over the winter. This was simply due to the unfathomable cold we had here which led to the machines being either unresponsive or too cold to operate (Plus there is no heater in the machine shop and the operator, who also runs this website, wasn’t having anything to do with it! It was freezing! Seems kind of pointless putting a heater in now though :/)

Then there was a change to some of the tooling we have in the main shop. We originally had a huge wood turning lathe that was simply taking up too much space in our little shop and was too cumbersome to move about the shop, so we decided to downsize! Now we have way more space to put all our offcuts and random projects. Haha!

Over the past couple of months, we have focused a lot more on turning projects such as bowls, vases and pens! This has been simply to test our abilities, learn new techniques, push ourselves out of our comfort zones and, ultimately, improve our skills as woodworkers. This, of course, came with a whole new bunch of challenges. Not only did we need to acquire more tools (Yay! More tools!) such as carbide and HSS turning tools, but, we also had to improve our dust protection system. Extraction can only go so far! So I think a mask or cowl system is in order next!

Looking to the future, we are looking at getting some garments produced to try and get our name further afield and advertise in different places.

Also, BEST FOR LAST, we are planning on shooting our first YouTube video in the coming weeks so stay tuned for that!
